Getting More Teeth Out

Last week Heidi went into the vets to get dental work done. A scale and polish was planned, and any extractions that appeared needed along the way. Already being down 10 teeth before she even went, she came back with just 3 (2 top, one bottom) fangs and a tiny tooth remaining. Her gums were so receded that they couldn't be sewn up in the usual way, but she has healed fine. This cost us £252 after a 10% discount, (we have a vet plan membership).

The very next day she was back on form, and one week on we really notice that she looks younger - her face just appears more relaxed and smooth, she must have been really uncomfortable with all those rotten teeth. And she smells fine now - her breath used to fill the room before. I did put it off, but I am so glad we got it done.

  1. I'm glad that Heidi is feeling the benefit of her dental work, at least you know you spent the money well :)

  2. We had to have 11 bad teeth removed from our cat, Walter, when we first found him. I used to call him The Cowardly Lion because he had jowls, but once the bad teeth were removed, it was as if he had a facelift! He looked like a much younger cat! At first I was worried about him having so many teeth removed, but his health improved so much afterward.
