Spring is here, along with all the little critters who also like to be out in the fields. The wasteland, across from the house, where we let Heidi run is plagued by rabbits and last week she found a dead one to play with. As she was tossing it around having the time of her life, H ran over to her to tell her to stop (I wasn't there), and with that she ran and took herself off home - on her own, along with the dead rabbit. Yes, crossed the road on her own, and he found her in the back garden having hidden to furry down by the side of the fence. Next time he will not threaten to take it away.
The other day, on-lead, I was walking her up the farm road as she mooched along the edge of the field. The next thing she was tossing a live field mouse in the air and it was squeaking for it's life.
Funnily enough though, she hasn't been too bothered about actually chasing the rabbits.
