Stopping Barking, Pet Hut, and New Toy

These past few months, Heidi has gradually got more out of control in her barking at us for attention. We tried our best to ignore her, and then reward the quiet behaviour, but it didn't seem to be working. Plus, we have upstairs neighbours to think about - we can only ignore it for so long. One thing that would temporarily work was walking around the room or home, still ignoring her, but this wasn't a solution to her starting up again.

On Saturday night we used a spray bottle of water, and one spray worked so well she didn't utter another sound until Sunday daytime. Again, on Sunday, we sprayed her once and it stopped, and then Sunday night she did it once at H, whom only had to lift the spray bottle, and she ran away and has been quiet ever since. No whining either!

When we went Aldi shopping yesterday we noticed a new pet shop called Pet Hut. It had one aisle of dog stuff, alot of quite good things actually, and we bought Heidi a new toy. It is long and furry like a ferret, no stuffing, and a squeaker each end. She loves it. She goes mad with it, and always ends up taking it off to her bed .. I think she thinks it's real and we might take it away.
